Jalal El-Ali’s role within Buro Happold is developing parametric and computational strategies for realizing complex shaped buildings in an efficient way, involving the use of parametric modelling, mathematical, physical and economic algorithms to interactively link and manage the building information under one environment.

The intent is to work with Architects, Engineers and Programmers to develop a methodology to realise complex structural shapes with the aid of new and adapted software. Jalal has presented the parametric design technologies and simulative tools in conferences around the UK and Europe.
